Registered Participants Select Your 2020 Entry Cancellation Option

Note: Only runners who were registered for the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile or 5K Run-Walk at the time of cancellation will be able to use the link below to choose to either defer to the 2021 race and skip the 2021 lottery, get a full entry fee refund, or make a donation to the race charity. Please read on for full details if you are a registered runner.

If you fail to make your selection by 11:59 P.M. on April 15, 2020, you will forfeit your chance to select one of the three options!!

Dear 2020 Credit Union Cherry Blossom Race Participants:

As promised in our cancellation email of March 14, the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Organizing Committee is presenting you with your three options for the 2020 and 2021 Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile and 5K Run-Walk in the aftermath of the COVID-19 virus cancellation of the 2020 event.

To recap, the three choices are:

Option 1: Guarantee yourself a spot at the 2021 race! You pay the 2021 entry fee, but you get to skip the lottery. Your 2020 entry fee is not refunded. Note: With the large number of 2021 guaranteed entries that will be taken through this option, it is likely to be very difficult to get in through the 2021 lottery. Selecting this option means you will bypass the lottery for the 2021 race.

Option 2: Get a refund of your entry fee. Although we are a non-profit and we have incurred significant expenses for the event already, we will offer you a full refund of the entry fees ($48 for the 10 mile and $38 for the 5K Run-Walk.) This refund will be applied to your credit card. If you wish to run the 2021 race, you will need to enter the lottery and pay the 2021 entry fee.

Option 3: Donate your entry fee to charity. You may request your full refund to be donated to our official race charity, The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, where it will support pioneering research and world-class medical treatment at 170 CMN Hospitals across the country. If you wish to run the 2021 race, you will need to enter the lottery and pay the 2021 entry fee.

Note: Next year's race will be held on April 11, 2021.

Thanks for taking the opportunity to make your "Runner's Right of Selection" for this year's Runner's Rite of Spring. The deadline for completing the form and making your choice is 11:59 P.M. on April 15, 2020. Remember, if you fail to make your selection by 11:59 P.M. on April 15, 2020, you will forfeit your chance to select one of the three options!!

All About 2020 T-shirts and Medals: Shortly, you will receive an email providing you with the opportunity to have your cotton shirts and ASICS upgrade shirts and medals (if ordered) shipped to you for $6.00 to cover the postage and handling. If you are local to the Washington, DC area and prefer to save the $6.00 postage fee, once "social distancing" is a vestige of the past we will announce sites for runners to pick up these items in person at area Potomac River Running Stores and at selected area running events.
