Getting There

By Metro

Although Metro will not be available for getting to the race on Sunday morning, it will be open for getting to the Expo on Saturday. The National Building Museum is easily accessible by Metro. The Judiciary Square Metro stop is across the street from the main entrance to the National Building Museum and is served by the Red Line. Use of Metro is strongly encouraged.

Bike Valet Service

This year as part of our greening initiative we are providing a free “Bike Valet” service at the Health & Fitness Expo. Simply ride your bike to the expo and leave it with the representatives from Two Wheel Valet. They will guard your bike to ensure that it is safe while you pick-up your bib, shop our vendors and enjoy the festivities. It’s like a coat check for bikes! The bike valet parking is located on the east lawn (4th St. side) of the National Building Museum.

There is limited on-street parking in the vicinity of the National Building Museum. Available parking will be influenced greatly by other activities taking place nearby (the Verizon Center is very close). Parking meters are enforced on both Friday and Saturday (at rates up to $2.00 an hour), so bring lots of quarters if you plan to use on-street parking.

To reserve a parking spot near the expo, we recommend booking convenient and affordable parking in advance through SpotHero, the nation’s leading parking reservation app. To reserve your parking spot for the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run Health and Fitness Expo, visit the National Building Museum SpotHero Parking Page and book a spot with rates up to 50% off drive-up.

Paid parking may also be available in other nearby commercial parking lots. Rates are likely to be in the $15-$20 range. Be sure to check the hours of the commercial lots. Some of them close early. Think Metro.

Bib and MyLaps Bib Tag pick-up will take place in rooms located on the second floor of the National Building Museum; T-shirt pick-up will take place in the Great Hall on the first floor. Volunteers will direct you to each location.

In order to avoid overcrowding and long lines at the National Building Museum, if possible please pick up your bib number according to the following schedule, based on your last name:
Friday, April 3
A-F 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
G-M 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M
N-Z 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

N-Z 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Open 3:00 P.M. to 4:45 P.M. (sharp)

We understand that personal scheduling limitations may mean you must come at a different time. However, if a decent percentage of entrants adhere to this schedule, it will ease the flow for everyone.

Picking Up Someone Else's Packet

You may have someone else pick-up your bib number on Friday or Saturday at the Health and Fitness Expo at the National Building Museum. The person getting your number will need a note from you (a copy of an email is fine), ID for himself or herself, and will be required to provide his or her email address and sign a statement that the number will be used only by you. If the number is transferred, you will be denied entry into future editions of the race. We regret being heavy-handed here, but unauthorized bib transfers represent a real scoring and security issue for us. PLEASE DO NOT send the note authorizing someone to pick up your packet to us at the Credit Union Cherry Blossom. The person picking up your packet should bring the note (a printout of an email is fine) with them to the Expo!

Upgrade Shirts

Runners who pre-ordered the Asics performance upgrade shirts can pick them up at the Health and Fitness Expo on Friday or Saturday. They will not be available at the race site on Sunday. Upgrade orders (including sizes) are indicated in the email with your confirmation. Remember Asics upgrade shirts replace the standard participant shirt; you will not receive both. If you did not purchase an upgrade in advance, you may purchase one at the CUCB Official Merchandise booth.

T-Shirt Exchange

There will be a t-shirt exchange located on the first floor of the National Building Museum where participants will have an opportunity to exchange either their cotton participant shirt or their performance upgrade shirt if it is the wrong size based on availability. We do not guarantee that all sizes will be available but last year the t-shirt exchange worked quite well.

Donate Your Used Running Shoes

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom is proud to announce that we will be helping the MORE Foundation Group collect donations of your used running shoes at the Health and Fitness Expo again this year. Donating shoes keeps them out of the landfill and the proceeds from the shoes help MORE plant thousands of trees each year, which offsets carbon in the atmosphere. With every pair of gently used athletic shoes, MORE is able to plant one ton of carbon grounding trees and train poor farmers in sustainable agroforestry. Last year we collected nearly 200 pairs of shoes at the expo! To donate your shoes, please bring them to the Sustainability Booth, which will be located near the t-shirt pick-up area. Learn more here:

Recycling at the Expo

The General Services Administration (GSA), will be assisting our sustainability efforts in making the expo at the National Building Museum a green event by helping to maximize recycling and composting and minimizing trash to the landfill.

There will be no packet pick-up and no t-shirt pick-up at the race site on Sunday, April 5.
