Registration Transfer Process

Don’t Give Your Bib to Anyone Without Going Through the Transfer Process!

The Entry Transfer Process for the April 2026 10 Mile and Double Blossom opens on February 2, 2026 and closes on February 28, 2026.

If the 5K fills its field before Feb. 28, the 5K entry transfer process will open when the field fills and be open until February 28, 2026.

2026 Transfer Process

The entry transfer process will open on February 2 for the 10 Mile and the Double Blossom. Those runners accepted into the 10 Mile or Double Blossom who decide they won’t be running will be able to transfer their entries, either to a friend/family member whom they know or to a would-be runner on the Wait List.

Transfer to a Friend or Family Member (Someone You Know)

If you know to whom you wish to transfer your registration, you will  be able to return here on or after Feb. 2 and use the link provided to give information on the person to whom you are transferring the entry. Once that person completes the transfer, you will be refunded your original payment (less any donations made and service fees paid).

Transfer to Somone on the Wait List

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile, Double Blossom and 5K will use a Wait List system for the first time this year (the Wait List for the 5K will only open after registration for the 5K has filled). People who did not get accepted through the 10 Mile or Double Blossom lottery or who missed the lottery will be able to sign up for the Wait List once the Lottery closes and results have been disseminated. The Wait List will be first-come, first-served, with those on the Wait List able to get an entry from a registered runner who decides not to participate and does not have a friend or family member to whom they wish to transfer their entry. More details on the Transfer Process and the Wait List will be posted here as they become available.

Refunds and Transfer Fees

A registered runner who transfers their registration, either to someone they know or to someone on the Wait List, will receive a full refund of their entire registration expenses, including upgrade shirts, medals, etc., except for processing fees and charitable donations. The person who takes the transfer, whether it is someone on the Wait List or someone who is taking a transfer from a friend or family member, will fill out an entirely new registration and so can order whatever ancillary items they desire, and will pay a $20 transfer fee.

Don’t Give Your Bib to Anyone Without Going Through the Transfer Process!

If you give your bib to someone else without going through the formal transfer process, you and the person running with your bib will both be banned from the race for up to five years.

No Deferrals or Refunds

The policy of the race is that entry fees are non-refundable and there are no deferrals. There are only two exceptions to the no refunds rule:

1. You purchase the official Race Protection Policy at the time of registration, and qualify based on the terms of the policy – if so, see below.

2. You make a transfer through the official Transfer process described above.

Race Protection

All registrants are given the opportunity to purchase race protection to protect your entry fee if you find you are not able to run due to a qualifying event. If you purchased Race Protection when you registered for the race, you can submit a claim for a refund (the protection does not cover EVERY reason you can’t make the race). This is done through a third party and you will need to fill out a Race Protection Claim with them by clicking the link below:

We at Cherry Blossom cannot offer you assistance in pursuing your claim; we only provide access to this third-party offer as a service to our runners. We have no say over what will and will not be covered.
