Credit Union Cherry Blossom Hall of Fame

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Hall of Fame was created in 2023 in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the race. The Hall of Fame nominees are all people who had made significant contributions to the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile at any time over the last 50 years since the race began, either as a competitor, a supporter, a staff member, a committee member, a media member, a sponsor or through some other association with the race.

2026 Hall of Fame Class:

- Ben Beach, Only individual to have completed every Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run since 1973
- Becky Lambros, Former CUCB Volunteer Coordinator, Deputy Race Director since 2012
- George Banker, Long-time CUCB Teams Coordinator, Community Liaison, Race Historian and Race Photographer

2025 Hall of Fame Class:

- Anna Berdahl, 37-year volunteer and Founder and Former Co-Director, Kids Run
- Bill Rodgers , 4-time winner of the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile, Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon

2024 Hall of Fame Class:

- Phil Stewart, Co-Race Director, 1989-1990; Race Director 1991-Present
- Bill Brooks, Credit Union Miracle Day Board Member
- Ed Murray, Former Co-Race Director, 1974-1982

2023 Hall of Fame Class:

- Gar Williams, one of the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile’s founders and co-director of the 1973 race
- Jeff Darman, who took over as co-race director in 1974 and served until 1991 in either a solo or co-race director capacity
- Irv Newman, who has worn many CUCB hats in the past 20+ years, most notably as Board President from 2014-2022

Nominations

Nominations are made for future inductees every year.

Who is Eligible: Any individual who has made major contributions to the event, either as a competitor, a supporter, a staff member, a committee member, a media member, a sponsor or through some other association with the race. Posthumous nominees are accepted. Past inductees are not eligible (see below for all past inductees).

Nominating Procedure: Nominations for the 2027 Hall of Fame class will open in late January 2027.

Inductees Announced: The inductees will be announced at the Saturday night of race weekend VIP-Sponsor-Elite Athlete dinner.
