Team Competition Entry Process
Overview
Team competition takes place in the 10 mile only in the divisions listed below. (Team entry fees* are noted for each division. Please note that the team entry fees are the fees required to create the team and are distinct from the individual entry fees each entrant has paid to enter the race. There is no team competition in the 5K.

*Fees listed above do not include processing fees.
Note: There is a Capitol Hill Team competition as well. Prospective Capitol Hill teams should not register as Government teams. For details on the Capitol Hill division please contact Sarah Turner at chc@cherryblossom.org.

Team Registration
The first step that must happen for Team Registration is the Team Captain must Create the Team. If you know that the team you want to join has already been created, skip to Step 2.
Step 1: Create the Team
Prospective team captains (who are not required to be entrants in the race, although they may be) should click the button below to create the team.
When you click the link you will be asked to sign into your Race Roster account (or create one if you do not have one). You will then be taken to the Team Menu. Click on the type of team you wish to create, then scroll down and fill out the form.
- After you complete the Personal Information section of the form, you will encounter the Teams section.
- There you want to click on the + sign next to Create New Team.
- Enter a Team Name (prizes are given for the Best Team Names, so be creative!), and check the required box that discloses that the Team Captain will be able to see some registration information of team members.
- There is a box to Enter a Promo Code, but that is not applicable here, so just skip that and click Continue, then Submit the Order.
Step 2: Runners Join the Team
Once you have created the team, tell Team members to join the team. Team members must have already registered for the 10 Mile or Double Blossom previously, except as outlined below under “Team Member Exemption Policy.” Team Captains should also join the Team if they are planning to run on the team.
How to Join a Team:
- Go to your Race Roster dashboard (https://raceroster.com/dashboard/participants/107204) and log into your Race Roster account.
- You will see your 10 Mile or Double Blossom Registration. In the middle of the registration is a box labeled Team with a button in it that says “Join Team.” (see screenshot below). Prospective team members can click on that button and pick the team from a dropdown.
Some important team policies:

- Creating a team and paying the team entry fee does not register the team captain or any team member for the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile. It only registers an “empty” team.
- A single Team Captain may create more than one team.
- You will select a Team Division from one of the categories above. Be sure to check the Team Rules to be sure that your team meets the criteria for a particular category.
- The Team Captain cannot add members to the team – the individual team members must add themselves to the team through their Race Roster account.
- Only Team Captains can remove runners from a team.
Team Member Exemption Policy
Team members should come from previously registered runners. However, in certain cases Team Captains may consult with Team Coordinator George Banker (teams@cherryblossom.org) if an additional runner is needed to fill out a team. At his discretion, Team Coordinator George Banker may issue an additional entry code to a Team Captain for distribution to a prospective new team member. These individuals must register for the race and can select the team from a dropdown during the registration process. There are a limited number of guaranteed entries available to fill out teams until February 28. Team registration closes at 11:59 P.M. on February 28, 2026.
