Team Competition Entry Process
TEAM REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026 CREDIT UNION CHERRY BLOSSOM WILL OPEN ON JANUARY 26, 2026.
Details of the Team Competition appear at the links below. Team registration will close on February 28, 2026. All team members must be accepted into the race by the normal registration procedure (i.e., through the Entry Lottery, by having volunteered in 2025, or by meeting the criteria for special entrant category – Seeded Runner, 100 Mile Club, Charity Runner, or Two-Time Lottery Loser) – to be on a team.

TEAM FEES:
When team registration opens, Team Fees will be as follows (this is a one-time team fee and does not include individual team member race registration):
- DMV Run Club Championships – $20
- Other Run Clubs – $20
- All other teams – $50
NEW FOR 2026: CORPORATE TEAM BUILDING OPTION
Team Sponsorship Includes 10 Guaranteed Entries
In 2026 we are offering a new Corporate Team Building option. Corporations, agencies, law firms, etc., can purchase a Team Sponsorship and receive 10 guaranteed entries (at prevailing entry fees). While the team will be limited to 10 entries who have not yet registered for the race, the team can also include an unlimited number of runners who have already registered for the 10 Mile or Double Blossom. This is a fun activity for your employees to team build, be active, and represent your company, law firm, real estate agency, etc.
Team Fee: $1,000 (plus processing fees)
Guaranteed Entries are for the 10 Mile Only
This opportunity is limited to 10 Teams (first come, first served). You can signup for the Team Sponsorship beginning January 26, 2026 (when team registration opens).
Team fee will include 10 guaranteed entries (at prevailing entry fee). Team can be of unlimited size like all other team, and can include runners who have not yet registered (up to 10), and can also include runners who have already registered for the 10 Mile or Double Blossom.
Remember, this opportunity is only available to the first 10 teams to sign up.
NOTE ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEAMS AND LOTTERY BUDDIES. During lottery registration, some people want to be sure that if they get into the race by lottery, their friends and family who registered and entered with them as Lottery Buddies would get in as well (and conversely if they didn’t get into the race, their friends and family wouldn’t either), so we allowed people to register as Lottery Buddies solely for this purpose. Once the lottery is held and Lottery Buddies are either accepted or rejected, the Lottery Buddy affiliations are deleted from the registration database because they were no longer needed. We then hold a separate Team registration from January 26 – February 28, where people who meet the criteria for creating a Team can register their team in the Team competition. The members of these teams must have already been accepted into the race, they just need to fill out a separate team registration form and pay a team fee. If you do not go through the separate Team Registration process after you are accepted into the race, you are not on a team!
